do you know whom the Interim baton belonged to at the last SOS show and how much Jason asked for it?

If memory serves me right,the Milch interim baton was up for auction
in London at Philips Auction House Old Bond Street in the early 1980.s
There was an argument with a "legal protest "from the Family and it was
withdrawn.It had been repaired I do believe.

Field Marshall Baton

I too remember an Interim Stab being auctioned in the UK during the 1980's. It was reported in "The Daily Telegraph" and showed Adrian Forman holding it. From what I can remember the bottom part broke off when the British officer who captured it hit the Field Marshall over the head with it!

The picture of AF with this baton appears in the back of one of his earlier books.

.I was at the Auction that day (after RK Citation ) but it was withdrawn
on Legal protest as deferred item.at last moment.The Forman pic comes from before the Auction day when it was bouncing around between Fisher and AF.

Interim Baton from Gerd von Rundstedt

In October 1997 the Interim Baton from Field Marshal Gerd von Rundstedt was offered by the German auction house Herman Historica in Munich for around 10.000 USD (= 32.000 German Mark). The baton was not sold in the auction.

Does someone know somewhat more about the Interim Baton from Marshal von Rundstedt?

$148k !! Way too high. Think about it...a top Generalsbaton for $10k 11 years ago? That's a $138k increase in value or about a $34 increase every day!! Someone sure is making a MASSIVE profit..rarity or not!

My estimation of the figures ( as at 3/2011) as follows:

Ceremonial Baton: $ 0.9 $1 M US

Interim Baton:$ 250,000 to $ 300,000 US

Gentlemen,

Although an Imperial example, Andreas Thies will have GFM Hindenburg's Baton on the "block" at his auction tomorrow. This may give us a sensing for what a Third Reich one should go for.

By the way, GFM Keitel's was the the last real example to be sold recently and included was his custom made awards chest form fitted for all his decorations and baton. Quite an example of German craftsmanship.

Will let you all know what the GFM Hindenburg Baton goes for.

The value of the ceremonial and interim baton, of course, depends also on to whom it was awarded to. But no matter to whom, their price really depends on so called " wished- price", that is, what the present owner asks for ,case by case, if available!
