    Knights Cross L/12, real?

Hi, I have a question, I have a gentleman who is selling a knights cross, NOT marked 800 on the top BUT IS marked L/12 Junkers on the top. Im trying to get him to send some close-up pics of the back, the oak leaves and all the specifics, but have you ever heard of a KC without an 800 stamp and marked L/12? Is there a red flag anywhere? Something i should be aware of?

A cross marked L/12 without "800" is with 99% certainty a fake. Sure, it could be that Juncker forgot the '800' stamp and this is a possible one out of 2000 or so...

... and when it comes with oaks I can tell you right now, the chances of a fake set just went up to 99.99 %.

      THe gentleman says...

He got the KC from Bill Shea AKA "The Ruptured Duck" I have heard mostly good things and not too much about dubious pieces coming from him . Does that fact that the seller claims it came from him, and in fact if it did, change the likelyhood of it being authentic or would it still smell like a red herring?

Likely, he got it via Morigi in England.....$125.00 and you can even get it 'aged'!

As OVER PRICED as Shea is I think that even (he) wouldn't get a mark-up like that....well,....maybe

          Hello there,

Let's go ahead and get some images to review before purchasing.
