From the start I did not think this was a W&L frame..it is also very wide on the flanges.

      Hallo,
das EK II ist kein typisches Wächtler und Lange!
Prägefehler am Rahmen sind nicht vorhanden, wie sonst!
Beim Kern, passt auch nicht wirklich.

        Dion,

        Very interesting cross you have.
Can you provide better pictures because to me it looks like a GUSTAV BREHMER (mm13).

The stamp looks very good for a W&L to me, unlikely postwar stamped.
IMO either a rare combination or the ring is replaced.

I agree with that call, can you confirm the swastika is raised up on a base?

You really think there was a frame error?

bei den typischen 100er sieht man am oberen kreuzarm auf der rechten seite ein fehler direckt am HK!
ebnso an der oberen innenliegenden zargenkannte.

Keine ahnung hier Pz,, aber ist ein bischen giel!

Iam back home guys, the swaz does not look especially elevated to me, but the texture is what gets me. Fake for me is definitely ruled out but really a curiousity. I photoed it also next to a 44 so you can see the width of the flange.

qick edit, now on the foto I do see the swaz is on platform, sometimes the camera is quicker then the eye!

Actually we will probably all end up having coffee at my place before the houseclearers come in. Those are my EK2 days and dealing with one source of houseclearance. These are dug up at the houses and thats why this one is so interesting to me.

Like I said before the EK2 is IMO still mady by Gustav Brehmer.

Brehmer frames have also these wide flanges.
My mm13 next to my mm44 shows exactly the same difference like on your picture.

The only thing what is strange is the paint and the ring of a W&L.
This kind of glossy, textured paint I haven't seen before on a Brehmer EK2.
Doesn't mean it's painted postwar, but based on these pic's I don't like it.

I don't know if it is a trick of the photo, but in post #6 the frame ring appears to sit lower on the frame than normal, or at least lower than it does on the reverse side. I think the ring was replaced and the frame ring was resoldered. Hence the "splatter that Ade mentioned.
