The back side looks like Funcke & Brüninghaus (L/56), but the front (non magnetic and the number design) is unknown for me. The unusual number design and the non magnetic core could be for an early version (39 - 41).

At the moment I know two maker's which used these distinctive hinge and pin system.

          1. Funcke & Brüninghaus (116 and L/56)
          2. Juwelier Robert Koch, Frankfurt am Main (not sure), maybe he was a member of Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hanauer Plakettenhersteller (24)

            Hello

Thank you for your comments Kay and Grueni.

Usually if a piece is denazified then they remove the swastika completely.

so maybe this cross is no good?

the website says it is an L/57 which is incorrect as there is no way this cross is an L/57.

            lets see what others say!

            cheers

It doesnt look to me like there has been any repairs to the pin/catch set up: so what do you make of the hardware? does it fit in with a deschler?

just had a look and no it doesnt.

                        Thanks for the pictures Grueni;

what are the red arrows pointing at? die flaws? excuse my lack of knowledge

I have yet to pay for this cross: bu must soon, however I am still unsure if it is original.

I thought it was good until i posted it here.

so apart from the fact it is denaz (which is fine as i collect these pieces), what do other members think?

                        regards

                            The distinctive frame with flaws.

I can't see an indication of repair, therefore I would say it could be an early Deschler EK I with non-magnetic core and a pin and hing system which is unusual for Deschler.

But it's only an assumption because I never saw this type of EK I before.

Is it for sure three part construction? There's some brass showing where the beading took a hit during the removal of the swastika. Looks like a one piece to me and the pin set up is all wrong for a pre 1945 one piece non magnetic EK1, I wouldn't get it....
