I agree! This is definitely a piece for the museum. That way, it can always be used as a reference source when the rest of us want to compare (or likely contrast) the ones we find.

these officially awarded crosses have simili tones, not real damonds.

I can't say for the other decorations you quoted. Concerning the SC, simili diamonds stones were used for the awarded crosses (Info from owners of original one). May be crosses were made for private purchase with real diamonds, but different from the awarded ones.

That would make sense....the 3 c's def missing from this piece...carat clarity colour...very milky
I have a beautiful Schwerin u boat and thats diamonds...the clarity and colour are very fine.

Not known which, not many made, and only given on 23 occasions. I'm sure you know already, its not really an award as such, more a 'bestowal'.
