    PKZ Dates

I always repeat the same "fact" in these discussions n the dating of PKZ numbers....that is Rudel's swords are 900/21 and awarded laterly in 1943 (November). There is no reason (in my opinion) that a RK with a PKZ number shouldnt date from (at least) that period too.

Exactly Chris......These groupings cannot simply be dissmissed out of hand just because it does not jive with a published timeline. I have noticed that this timeline tends to regress as more information comes too light. At one time the line was drawn in mid 44 rather than Feb 1944. At this rate given another year we may see the dates of the groupings above well within the parameters of accepted timelines. Thats why books have "Revised Editions".

Don't know what program you are using, but you shouldn't have to "re-post" a photo. All you have to do is right click the photo, save it, then retrieve it from the "my pictures" section of your "documents" folder when you are ready to put it into the database you are creating.

ok don't mean to hijack this thread.

Yep, already thought of that mate, problem is I'm trying to keep one post for one maker. Because that is the only way you can reorder things if you need to. The issue with this version of PHP (forum software) is you can only attach one new photo per thread, thats why I'm only linking to photos that have already been attached previously.

If you notice my database, I have one post for Juncker, S&L, K&Q etc. Otherwise the sticky thread would just be a random jumble of medals of different, ungrouped makers.

does that make sense or have I missed something?

I dont like the story about the knights cross winner group! The group was selling in 2 different german auction houses i think last year or a year before. One auction house was writing that a part of the items was destroyed, and in the other german auctionshouse there was selling the other items. But why??? There is a lot of fantasy by the buyers!regards ralf
if you want the name of the auctionshouse i must looking - i must have the auctions catalogue. And this german auctionshouse is not serious!

                  Two observations:

                  - I think I see the beginnings of the die flaw on the reverse frame of this cross

                  - Feb 1944: are we really to believe that ALL of the PKZ numbered medals, wound badges etc etc were produced in the last year of the war? I find this hard to believe...
