Medal bar is incorrect it has the ICII after a Long service award??
Whoever mounted them obviously didn't know the rules on the mounting order. Beautiful Spanish Cross Andi.

I have seen medal bars with a wrong ribbon for a foreign award (eg a spanish civil war ribbon for non combat instead of combat ribbon) but i would find it hard to believe that a German soldier would not have had this one changed as the EKII being second is a glaring error.
Also, looking more closely at the medal bar the medals are at very different heights, most medals should be in a line along the bottom of the medals, although sometimes one may be lower due to having a different suspension type ring.
Also i'm not sure whether the ribbons are actually the right width? Could be an idea to measure them.
      Ant.

Again, it all depends on whose mounting them. And as for the order, I have seen many period photographs of awards being worn incorrectly or incorrectly mounted.

I didn't mean an exact straight line & as you say each mounter would differ a little in methods but i for one can't remember seeing a Condor bar as out of line as this one.
I'm still not convinced by the medal bar & other opinions would be interesting.
Also if anyone has any period photo's of medal bars with incorrect medal placing i would love to see them as i have an interest in medal bars, especially Condor.

Ant, there are many medal bars with improper mountings in period pics. Don't have any on hand though. I have to admit the EK being out of place is a very strange one, but I am not put off by it.

              Best, Sal

I have to admit, the long service award ahead of the EK is a huge blunder; but I've spent enough time here and elsewhere to know huge blunders - while rare - did occur. Here's a photo from another forum showing a period LC bar mounted in reverse order...

Thanks for the picture Scott, very interesting one as that bar is simply the wrong way round, someone was obviously confused by left & right!
Have looked through a 26 page thread here, which i've also posted on before, that shows just medal bars & i must say that after 26 pages of medalbars i still haven't seen one where the medals are so out of line.
I guess it's just one of those things, on a personal level the medal bar wouldn't be for me although each item in the grouping looks fine.
