Seeing we're on the subject, here's what is considered to be a legit EK1 screwback with the sunburst disc, an unmarked Deumer.

The rear. Not sure if these fakes are using original discs or fake ones.

Mateo, that's because the cross I posted is a Floch.

I've compared the "4" on your cross with others more closely and admittely is not so far off as I first thought, sorry.

Imo it doesn't mean so much anyway for three reasons.

        1) The dots at the base of the upper right sword, typical Floch.
        2) I've never seen a S&L screwback.
        3) Like George and Steve I've never seen a clamshell disc on a real cross.

They're few tombak S&L's so this is the best I can manage.

                    Hello guys,

just thought I'd post a pic of the mm on my KVK1 W/O Swords by S&L, just to add to those already here!

                      That's a nice cross Paul,

I see the little 'dimple' or dot where the lines on the '4' cross, a good sign on this particualr stamp from S&L...

                        Hi Robert,

I didn't know about the dimple, very interesting. Is it a common feature in the S&L stamps? This badge is quite unusual because it's pretty shoddily put together! The hinge is quite squint, solid, but only half attached. It makes you wonder how it passed quality control?? Other than that it's a lovely Buntmetall badge, with a good quality chrome-like finish. It's one of the first badges that I acquired.

It's still an original tombak S&L, Paul, despite it's flaws. I have a DKiG with a crooked hinge, but it makes no difference when worn. This dimple is only on this particular S&L stamp. I like to see it. It's just one more little detail which is all-important to originality. Not to confuse the fact that S&L had other '4' stamps which were every-bit as original to the period.

Here's a gem I picked up last year, as yours, chrome-like finish to the obverse...an S&L...
