Stock of Medals found at the Deschler Company in 2006!

    Hi!

I just read a story about a large stock of medals was discovered when workers did some inventory work at the Deschler & Sohn Company in Munich in 2006.

According to the site displaying the story, several boxes with medals from WW2 was found, including Knights Crosses (RK des KVKs I guess?), German Crosses and KVKs.

Anyone have any more information about this? I haven't read about it here as I can remember, so I found it a bit odd..

Thanks, and have a wonderful holiday!

    Best regards,
    Jørgen

I believe there are a few threads on it here. I have one of the EK2's from that find. It's unissued and came complete with the paper packet, ribbon and cross wrapped in tissue paper. I know there were also KVKs in both classes found, cased and packeted. Here's a link to my EK2

Likewise, Steve. I've found the same for sale on various sites for weeks now, the packeted EKII's. I'm looking for the DK's as others are, and for the EKI's I've heard were found also. I'm eager to learn more truth about this find. Perhaps we'll see evidence of this at the SOS this year.

I'm pretty sure all those mint cased KVK1s with the swords were from there too.

Thank you for the replies guys!

I found the article a bit interesting as it states that the workers found several cased Knights Crosses. It is not clear wheather or not these were RK of the EKs or RK of the KvKs. Maerz writes in his book on page 183 that Nimmergut mentions Deschler as a producer of the RK of the EK?!?

            Have a nice Christmas

            Best regards,
            Jørgen
