    New Deschler EK2 Set

Just picked up this very nice Deschler EK2 set, which includes a nice maker marker 1 EK2, the packet, which is also stamped Deschler and Sohn, a piece of ribbon and the original tissue paper the EK came wrapped in. I don't believe any of it has been issued. From what I understand, this is from the so called "Deschler Hoard" that was was uncovered some time ago. Any one have any other information on this find? I'm really happy to pick up this complete set, not to mention a 1 marked EK2, which is never easy to find. What does everyone think?

    *Note* Better pictures added.

Here's the rear of the cross itself. A very nice example in itself.

              Oh My!

              Hi Steve,

Hold on...I think it's a Floch fake and you should mail it to me for disposal.

OK, maybe not. Can't blame a guy for trying. Actually that's one fine package you have there. Certainly a centerpiece in any EKII collection.

              Regards,
              Stu

I had an opportunity to get one of these sets at the OVMS Show in Ohio on November 2. I now regret not doing so....

                  Beautiful set Steve,

It's such a plus to find them in this excellent condition. The finest maker of the EKII! And so hard to find.

That's why I jumped at it. Not only was the set a real representative example for any collection, no matter what the maker, but being a marked and matching Deschler set was a major bonus. Never thought I'd get one so quick. Seeing we are on the subject, I have a 1 marked EK1 in the mail as we speak. Stay tuned for a posting when it arrives.

                              Hi

Ok so I have a question about thins Iron Cross. It seems really wierd I don't know if it's the pictures or what but the front and the back do not look like they belong to the same badge. The obverse looks like the Cross was drilled and the ring was inserted through the hole and the reverse looks soldered. If you look closely you can see the background through the hole on the obverse. This is wierd.
