    looking for a good book

    I am looking for a book that tells what german ww2 awards/medals were awarded for. Has anyone run into one thats still in pint?

    Angolia's For Fuhrer and Fatherland is a good one. There's also another "Combat Badges of the 3rd Reich" on sale on e-stand now. I'm not sure it tells of award criteria, but looks chocked full of variations and a whole selection of badges.

      Theres also:

      - "Medals and Decorations of Hitler's Germany" by Robin Lumsden.

      - "Medals & Decorations of the Third Reich" - Heinrich Dohle, 1943 - this has been translated into English and reprinted recently.

        Hi,though you are looking for a general book on third reich awards but i'll still like to recommend you 3 books,cause they are simply great.
        1)The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross and its highest grades by our Mr Dietrich here.
        2)The Iron Time by Mr Stephen Previtera
        3)Iron Cross of 1939 by Mr Gordon Williamson
