why did the family sell the grouping and now taking it back? Why was the group splitted at the first sale?

The ek2 doc harry posted look dubious. Although its certainly possible that he got two docs, a unmatching date is something I have seen several times and I wouldnt think to much about it.

Sold in 2008 catalogue! The total price was in the next catalogue in September/October 2008.

yust for eveyones information: Hermes was not the yougest at all. Christian Lohrey received the Ritterkreuz at the age of 17.

At the time he received the RK, Hermes was the youngest recipient. But younger winners of the RK came later.
The EKII doc photo that I posted was forwarded to me by a Hermes family member.

Maybe the Museum was wrong also. But this is a strange one since it popped up already twice in the literature.

That's all I know and I would love to see pictures of the cross. A slightly flawed S&L awarded in mid-44 fits perfectly in the timeframe!

Well, it seems that the grouping changed hands a bit too often...

Harry, did you sell the RK Doc. directly to Hermes?

So the showing knights cross of the user is only a unknown knights cross without any history! It seems there was a knights cross with a fake story - but not Hermes knights cross .
