There seems to be more mint/near mint 134 around then a nice looking heavy 20.

    Just my 2 cents.

Couldn't agree more really. I see tons of Otto's next to a HEAVY Zimmerman.

I agree with David on this one.. But it is all up to you in the end! I know I would have a hard time selling either of them! Beautiful DKiGs!

Thanks to everyone who weighed in on this.

The MAX was a great show for me - I sold just about everything I took, to include the "134" DKiG. The heavy 20 is safely tucked away and will be staying with me.

            Ade,

Believe it or not, I finally got around to having some photos taken of the markings scratched into the reverse of the DK (thanks to Larry Lipps!)

Here's the best of the photos...looks like a date "17.11.42"? followed by something I can't make out:

Looks like 17.VI.42 to me. Followed by "Ilig"? Who received a DKiG on June 17th 1942? Anyone got their books out?

                  I'd keep the 134..
I've seen more original 20's than 134 sofar.., I think many people own a 134 which is fake, so it looks there're plenty...there're very good copies around..
I think 20's are somewhat of better quality though..

                    Hi

I agree that it is 17 VI 42.

I have had a quick look and I have a list of 12 LW recipients who were awarded DKiG on 17.6.1942

How about it, why is there even a question really?

So who was Ilig and why did he get this one?

                          Hi William

I am working on the assumption that it is not a name, but an abbreviation of the chaps unit. So, possibly II/g

Wow - is this WAF or CSI?

Great forensics work, guys - I appreciate your efforts!

For the record, I sold the 134 at the MAX, so the Zimmerman is staying put in my collection.

Why this would be not a Name? Is it not in the books or is it just your thought it is not a name?

                                Hi Rob

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the first thing I did was run a check against the names I had for recipients of the DKiG and look for anyone with that name.

From that, I was looking for other possibilities and that is what I started to look at.
