I'm not hot about this one. Pin, catch, overall finish etc. I know, all those negative vibes but sorry, Jimmy.

Frank would you look again please. The zinc is bubbling like crasy on the rear. Doesnt it take years for the finish to start bubbling? I thank You.

Jimmy, yes usually it'll take years before the bubbling shows up.

I've taken a second look and I don't see it but maybe I need new glasses plus you have the cross in hand, so it's bubbling.

Please don't take my opinion as a final verdict. I'm just passing my opinion based on my own mm3's, the files I have plus that gut feeling and all combined says to me somethings wrong here.

Hopefully someone else has a better idea about your cross and we'll both learn something.

              Close up of rear

Any other opinions. It has no links to Floch. And the back side has a whole lot of little bubbling. Hard to make out in picture but it is there the bubbling. Thanks

                  IMO Original badge.

However, it appears the reverse has been messed with and repainted. Catch looks replaced and the pin and hinge look not quite right for the maker.

Thanks Darrell, The back is not refinished just a bunch of little bubbles or dimples. The catch has been repaired for sure. Thanks for the help on the W/O to. Although it doesn't have the tell tale Foch "bumps" near the arms. I don't like the 1 either. Thanks

The marking is for Deumer. The cross has the correct "Deumer" plate under the hinge. The obverse match a Deumer as far as i can see. The needle and catch is not what we normaly see on a Deumer. Maybee this is a early postwar? St&L did it so why not Deumer?

                          Looks period

From the pictures it looks a genuine mid war period example, still retaining a high percentage of the original frosting to the obverse and the burnished highlights, with reference to the reverse it is evident it has had a few running repairs. Evidence of the silver plate reacting to the zinc base is characteristic with the zinc mid war construction Badges.
                          Regards Martin

                            Hello,

I would say a genuine Deumer produced badge. I don't believe this the original hinge mounted on top of the correct plate and I also think the catch has been repaired.

                              How?

I don't know how this got back to this forum.
It is listed for sale on the estand at a very attractive price.
And all of a sudden its up here.
Thanks to you guys for your kind comments. And I agree with your comments whole heartily.
