I think that if you look closely at the pebbling around the swaz and date you'll see differences between it and the Spange that led off this thread -- and certainly between it and the "Raptor" fake.GeorgeComment

I've gathered them along the way to help me in my study. You're exactly right about the pebbling. The study of the Raptor and the Schickle is so methodical, it almost wears a guy out. But the differences can be seen when you do the work. Wear of the badges, lighting and photography all add to the work. One thing I see on the Schickles that stand out are the catches. They almost look like the 'L/16' S&L's, but of course the pins and hinges are different.
One other thing I've noticed that stands out on the Schickles are their '1's in the date. The top of the '1' is perfectly inline with the body of the number. The raptors are not. There is a difference there.

Something I see in the Schickle vs. the Raptor fake are the differences in the 1's. The two dies definately produced two different products...
