The point is that it was sold as the original KC of Mooyman. And as many Dutch collectors know Mooyman lost his one and replaced it with a copy. In my opinion to replace a copy by an original KC to make the story look real, is even worse.

The knights cross specialists are going to kill me (the RK wasn't a L/12 Juncker but stamped 800 and the loop "800 65") but IMHO the good buying of this last Friday was Major Eduard Jähnert grouping, Geschwader Immelmann.

Hi Pierre what do you mean? That the original KC of Mooyman was a K&Q or do I misunderstand you?

        Thanks

Maybe this is Mooyman's original KC that was purchased on a local Dutch fleamarket for 20 Guldens by a Dutch collector who isn't among us anymore.
As you can see on the picture of Mooyman the paint on the swastica has been removed also.

          Thanks

To the Dutch collectors please don't shoot me!

The story about this KC is true. It was originally bought for 20 Guldens at a Dutch fleamarket.

            Thanks

              Kevin,

I meant that I suppose that for you being a KC expert a K&Q can't beat a Juncker.

Interesting Mooyman's KC purchased for 20 Guldens... You should buy an armour vest Kevin. The Dutch gang won't like this....

Kevin didn´t say it is Mooymanns cross!!! He was speculating – with a smile on his lips.

What about the collar tabs in the group?

I think it would be wise that if you are willing to buy a KC in the future to just order the KC book from Dietrich.
If an unissued Rk is as valuable to you as a '57 piece you can always sell them to me for the same price a'57 piece is going.
To me this statement is complete nonsense.

                    Thanks
I could feel the steam coming out of those ears of Kevin all the way over here. I think Seigfried has clarified his statement somewhat since then, but I can't help but laugh when thinking about what Kevin must have been thinking when typing this post. P.S. For me personally, I like the 57 RK's, especially the early ones.

I was told that the Mooymans original documents were still in possession of the family in the late '80 ties?

                      Thanks

20 gulden!!! I cannot believe it!!!!

Was that in Waterlloplain? One day I was riding my bike in Amsterdam (near by the former Ajax Stadium), happy with my very first IRON CROSS II class 1914. Then when I got to home my cross was lost!!!! Yes, someone must be even now happy with that find. for the finder.

BUT THAT KC for 20 gulden!!!! Even a stolen bike in Amsterdam is more expensive than that.

I wish I were the buyer.

                          Regards

                          Edgar

No offense, gentlemen, but this thread reminds me of a game children play called, in the US, 'Whispering down the lane'. A child whispers a sentence into the next child's ear, that child whispers it into the next one's ear, and so on, until, after perhaps 10 or 15 'ears' later, the sentence, now quite different than how it started, is told to the group by the last child.
Look at all the misunderstandings here!
                              1. Mooyman bought a replacement cross in the 50s.
                              2. A fake L/12? There are fake postwar Junckers?
                              3. The factory was not bombed--no documentation?
                              4. The L/12's were still produced post 45? Um Gottes Willens!!!
                              5. The group is good/bad/RK replaced/not replaced
                              6. An unissued RK is only as interesting as a 57 RK
                              7. No, an unissued fake RK is only as interesting as a 57!
                              8. There are doubts about every attributed piece!
                              9. ?????

Please, everyone take a deep breath and relax!

                                Mooymans grouping:

Mooyman lost his original KC and replaced it with a '57 piece or a postwar copy.
It was replaced later with an original L/12 KC by a collector or dealer and has been sold ever since as Mooymans original awarded RK.

                                Thanks
