EK1 Godet L/50

Well this forum is up and running again and a couple of EK's showed up today in the mail. All is well. Here's an EK1 marked L/50 I picked up on the estand for a decent price. It's certainly not mint and the camera is highlighting it's flaws but I think it's an honest piece. Some paint loss to the core. How often do you see this maker?

Here's the rear. Slight bend in the pin. Maker's mark is under the catch.

I tried to get a closer shot of the maker's mark and this was the best I could do. It does say L/50 in incuse relief. What does everyone think. Thanks for looking. Steve.

Godet is a rather rare maker. You see W&L, Mayer's and Souval's all the time but not Godet or Deschler.

I figured it had a certain cachet, so when I saw it pop up on the estand for a good price I grabbed it along with that single parade mount I posted today. Thanks guys.

It's a fine piece. And it's interesting to me that the paint is missing from the swaz, very similar to my own "L/50."

Thanks George. It could be wear on a high point or I often heard the owner would remove the paint from the swaz and date to hightlight them. Don't know how true that is.

I wish! I don't think I've gone too crazy, but there were some pieces I couldn't resist. Believe me I've held back, but there are a few more on the way, then I'm going to stop.
