    Dear Biro,

Yes, that is a fake spange in the link you posted. It is made after the scalloped type shown on the left of Gordon´s post in this thread (post #27), but lacks the scalloped ends of the date box. Sometimes the ends of the box are filed to scalloped shape by the more devious peddlers of this fake.

Here is one of these close up:

        Dear Stefan,

I would confirm what George and Vadim said about it. The little bumps don´t look good and the spange seems somehow too flat and the metal too dull, not vibrant enough, if you know what I mean by that. Maybe that is the scan, but the bumps are the biggest turnoff to me anyway.

          Thanks Frank

Thats a shame - you just gotta love that shape. Maybe someone should mention it to herr Weitze which is where it currently resides!!

anyone wanna sell me a first pattern??.

          No,........seriously!

            Dear Biro,

As usual, I should have added "in my opinion", but that is self-explaining.
So it is my opinion against Mr. Weitze´s. All I can say is:

-the one I show is definitaly a fake item
-the one offered by Weitze looks the same
-it imitates one of the known designs of the scalloped version

Make your own conclusions. One can never be sure until one holds a doubtful badge in one´s hands but if I was you, "not for my collection".

I've added the Reverse of the spange Frank didn't like to the link so that members have it.

Deleted: Answer irrelevant because Biro posted a wrong pic of an L/11 Deumer by mistake, which is now changed to the actual reverse of the spange.
