I have to agree with Dave.

I was surprised not to see the little "line" between the 9 and the 3 in "1939". This is evident in other Deschler "1" "900" marked pieces.

The Cross was acquired by my friend Mike in the 70's directly from the veteran along with a few other items.

I have a couple more of the Crosses by the same maker that have not yet been posted.

One Cased With Swords, and one without Swords, both veteran acquired, and like Jody's cross, neither has this mark.

I am only familiar with the few I have obtained from veterans. Some have this flaw and some don't. So far, I have no problem with any of the posted RK-KvK.

It's a beautiful award, especially so when featured in the case and I may chase one eventually.

However, I'd love to know the difference in the meantime
