To get back to this, I still find this spange to be very crude, poorly detailed and lacking the quality that would be expected in a period piece of the TR. The pebbling in the date bar is more like a 'gravel' road rather than what would be defined as pebbling. I just don't see this piece as an original myself. I might be wrong, but in this case I feel pretty confident that this piece is a very poor copy of what we've come to accept as the 'Unknown Maker' version. Sorry, guys. I may stand alone on this, but I just can't see this piece being anything but a copy.

You're not alone Robert. IMO this is a copy of the so called unknown maker. When I was shopping for a spange for my collection, I saw a few of these. When in the hand, there is little doubt it is no good.
