    repainted 113 ek2 ?

    Hello,
I just received this ek2. I had only some doubts about whether the core was repainted or not. I almost looks too new and the layer of paint seems to be very thick. What do you think?

I already looked if there were paint remains at the sides, but I don't believe that I see any remains.

    Thanks!
    Frank

Difficult to see, but it looks repainted to me.
Btw, is there paint on the inner side of the rim?

There's no paint at the inside of the rim.

              Thanks,
              Frank

When I look at the painting around the numerals, it seems that paint is laying thick overthere.

                Some other thoughts?

My thoughts exactly. I think its OK from the pictures, true, the paint might be applied a little on the thick side but I don't see its anything to worry about. There wouldn't be a need to repaint an EK that is in as mint condition as this one.
If you don't like it - let me know!

                      Hello

While I can see why you might think it's been repainted, to me it just looks like a thick paint layer. Given there is no paint on the inner rims - especially when taking into account the apparent thickness of the paint - I don't believe this EK to have been repainted.

By the way, a very nice EK.

                      Regards
                      David

I could be wrong off course.

I have to agree with Nico.. I don't like the thickness of the paint, especially on the swastika and around the numerals!

                          Just my two cents!

                            Hello,
I'd say, that if it has been repainted, it could only heve been done by splitting the ek2 up into 3 parts again. There is only no trace of that.

I'd say that it's almost impossible to repaint a ek2 this precise and without leaving any traces to the rims.

Are there more examples with such a thick layer of paint?

                            Thanks,
                            Frank
