EK1 - good or bad?

Instead of clogging up the old thread I started last night (here) I figured I'd start a new thread.

As promised, here are better pictures of the EK1 I am trying to get more information on. Please have a look at the following pictures and let me know your thoughts.

notice the small hole just bellow the hinge. Very strange, I have never seen this before.

Hello

Now that I can see the cross properly I have to agree that it's not one I'd have in my collection. However, that doesn't, of course, make it a fake. Equally it doesn't make it original.

Pure speculation here on my part now, but could this be a 'put together' piece using a genuine rear and core with a badly struck / pressed front rim in an attempt to be a Junckers ? I don't know, but it would explain a lot about this cross.

Before I read this David, I was thinking the same thing. Could this be Field thrown together or borrowed parts?
