I think that most are focusing on the Cross....it's FAKE, period. I thought that by now it would be common knowledge about the Rounder and the fraudulent dealer accounts and private stories of aquisition!

As a great deal of people put 'confidence' in to these COA's the point here is to get a gander at these documents so that (these) too may be identified as FRAUDS and FORGERIES.

    Has anyone seen the COA?
    Regards,
    Dave

      Hello

I haven't seen the COA, but as I said earlier, the COA isn't necessarily a fake:

That said, this COA may not be a fake Detlev Niemann one. It's dated 2001. and my understanding is that at that time the 'Rounder' RK hadn't been exposed as a fake, and that Detlev himself believed that they were of war time production. Therefore he may well have issued a COA on this 'Rounder' as although this type of RK is now a known fake it wasn't in 2001.

I know that recently on E-Bay and other places fake Detlev Niemann COAs have been appearing and so it's also equally possible that this one is one of those.

One thing I am curious about is why bother to mention the COA in the description of the RK at all ? After all it's a known fake being sold as a reproduction. So why mention the COA at all, unless there is some rivalry or other under current between Huskens and Niemann ?

      Regards
      David

Could also be a 'genuine' COA for another 'genuine' RK, but just paired with a fake cross....

          Hello

An extremely valid point Harry, and one I had overlooked. We would need to know what photos are on the COA - Rounder or S&L. Or worse, a genuine COA with the photos replaced with ones of the fake!!

          Regards

            2 points.

1st, if its originaly sold by Detlev its not only a COA it a lifetime
gaurantee for originality, so you would only need to buy the cross and then get the original purchase price back from Detlev

2nd,Detlev mentions on his ipdtae this week there is a change coming in his COA system and will tell us this next week. I think we will see some kind of serial numbering/data base/digital version or something to stamp out this COA fraud.

              Hello

I thought a COA, (Certificate of Authenticity), is the one you get where you pay for his opinion and valuation on an item you already own but haven't necessarily bought from Detlev. The GOA, (Guarantee of Authenticity), is the one Detlev issues with pieces that he sells, and it is these that carry the life time guarantee.

Worth a shot. Buy him a pint at Beltring and see if you can get the truth about Rounders. If that fails beat him up

Ade, if you see this Tony Oliver at the Beltring would you ask him about Herr Huesken's statement and see if he can / will shed any light on the Rounder ?

                          Regards
