I was going through a box of Iron Cross 2nd Class and found this example that is noticeably small than normal. The swastika and dates are also smaller. I assume just a maker's variant, but why make it smaller?
It measures only 43.22 mm and weighs only 13.30 grams. It is beautifully frosted and burnished, with light toning and has a non-iron center.
In the first photo, it is posted next to a standard size Iron Cross.
