S&L is renowned for producing post war strikes of original TR awards as their dies apparantly survived the war. See their RKs and DKs that are very close to the originals but fall down on a few small details.
You could******180;nt have a worse maker to try and convince evrybody that these are authentic. Might have been a different matter with an L/13 or CEJ.
As it is I suspect we are all still of the opinion that drop tails are post war.

Unfortunately Don's posts have been edited...I don't really understand what you're trying to do Joey.Sal said it.If you have any information regarding the possibility of a rare original piece why don't you post something like 'hey guys, check this out!!' instead of trying to start a pointless fight? Please correct me if i'm wrong but it seems to me that all you're trying to do is upset the very people that are here to help...bizarre!! This is after all your thread, thus YOUR job to prove experts wrong. It would be great if you stopped dithering around and made your point...or any point for that matter.
All the best

I have given this a lot of thought. Often in more cantancerous threads there is an argument on who the "onus" falls on to prove an item is fake/real. It is suggested that the guy who thinks fake has to prove it and conversly the guy who says real must prove it. It has been said more than once the thread starter must prove it. other opinions have been offered. I believe none of these things are correct. First of all there is no "need" to prove anything at all. If a collector s happy with his items great. BUT if you want to play with everybody else then whatever the common belief its IS the truth(at that time). Thus the person who believes differently(and wants to convince everybody that the "truth" is incorrect) must offer some proof whether they are argueing "good" or "fake". It is not the responsability of the thread starter per se because a thread starter could be talking about and established "truth". I know this runs into the "collecting by consensus" problem but in actuality that is what most here are doing to some degree (there are exeptions Mike K, Frank H and others who will offer thier knowledge but don't really mind if folks want to believe in items they think are not good) but most folks want thier item to be "accepted" probably due to the monetary nature of the hobby. If one has an item that is generally believed to be bad (heavily flawed S&L RKs come to mind as a good example) and believe in them that is not a problem but when they go against the conventional wisdom(be it right or wrong) they will probably need to give proof before the item will be accepted and hold good value. It works this way in all aspects of life. Science springs to mind. If one were to say gravity only works 99% of the time one would need to offer proof. (I am not implying that the prover must always be argueing a rediculous losing point). But if we all agree shaking hands is respectful and proper and you think spitting on someone is a more respectful greeting you would need to convince people with proof of why that is more respectful because we all BELIEVE shaking hands is the way to do it. In the reverse if I were to say some well accepted badge were a fake ,again I would bear the burden of proof. I wouldn't need to have one in my collection nor be required to prove anything unless I wanted others to believe as I did. On collecting by consensus I actually believe that is what most folks do and I see nothing wrong with it. I believe one should understand where the consensus opinion comes from and if unsatisfied with the reasoning then steer clear of the item, but the "consensus' is how much information was gleaned in the first place. Anyhow in this case Joey, the burden falls on you.
Best, Sal

You guys are wasting your time. The type of help that Joey needs won't be found here. He owns several of these POSs so he wants them to be real. Look at every post he has done since he joined and you will see a pattern to his postings. He obviously has many rare pieces in his collection. More power to him. I won't waste another iota of cyberspace on him and I suggest the same for all of you.

I just don't get why he isnt Banned yet. All this guy does is insult and be rude on the forums. On any other Forum he would have been banned long ago. Mods whats going on??? On the estand lots of sellers arent adhearing (sp?) to the rules of posting a price or picture and the thread just sticks, no mod intervention at all, Time to Moderate!
