Hi guys
I will throw my hat into the ring on this one.I have the first one shown on the forum about a year ago. Actually the first time was about two years ago but no one spotted the dots in the date and it got a from every one.
I bought my cross and Two cloth DK's from a vets son at a local gun show.What I payed for the Three was in my opinion was very low. The guy was looking at a Colt 45 70 series and I basically gave him what the gun cost.So I don't think the guy was trying to burn me with a fake DK. He also had several mint GAB and IAB but wanted way too much for them(at the time) not now days

I also used to own one of these, and mine was far from mint. Good ol' Tom Hansen didn't like it when I posted it way back when...over a year ago, I think, and I disagreed. I was convinced from day 1 that it was 100% right, and still stand by that opinion today. I'll see if I can dig up my old photos and post them again here just for fun.

I might have the measurements around somewhere on my piece. If I recall, these were also right on the money!

Thanks George L. Your cross exhibits the same characteristics. It's interesting that these 20s, even in mint condition, tend to have the silver background tarnish rather uniformly in every case. Must be a characteristic of the later 20s as these all have this tendenacy.

I have to go along with Brian here ... a very civilized discussion. What amazes me here ... is that 14 months after I posted the one I used to own ... it appears these have finally gotten their just due. Not one discouraging or biting remark from the detractors back then ... and I'm not just talking about tom hansen. Go back and read that thread. Why are these guys so quiet now?
