    For me, the best looking award is the Iron Cross.
    Why? Because it has a very sipmple design (like a cross), but it reflects power, grandeur, a link to the past, ...

    Okay, diamonds always look better than a piece of iron, but in a designer point of view, the simplicity of the Iron Cross beats them all!

        This thread is a great read. I went for the Rk, but with Oak leaves and swords to make it really sing. I rather like the Star to the Grand Cross which Hindenburg proudly wore and Goring never got. I chose the RK like so many others as its part of the EK family. It is just about the most Iconic medal ever made, and works so well as a design. I have the cheapest Rk copy you could find (which I love) and would love a Souval one at some point, but for now I'm saving for an EKII and plan to buy it in a week or so. I can't wait.

          ... just went through this great thread ... and I couldn't take my eyes off Bob's diamond DK ... simply unbelievable awesome (sorry, the right words are simpy missing for something like this!)

          The DK is my most favorite award ... and I wish there was any chance to own a diamond one at one point ...

            Is DKIG the best?

            DKIG is the most popular on my return to this thread. Diamonds. DKIG wins hands down for me. Anyone wanting to post a pic of their best looking award and vote for it? This is the place!

              Knights Cross

              I'm blessed to have some of the awards up for vote. I think the DKIG is the most attractive, but a newly awarded Knight's Cross with a black iron core and contrasting silver frame is the overall winner.

                      The "KvK 1 with Swords" & the "KvK II with Swords"
                      have been overlooked in this section.

                      I prefer the "KvK" line over the "EK" line mainly because
                      of the overall appearance of them with the 'SWORDS'.

                      Definitely "KvK"s over "EK"s for me!

                          I'd have to say the plain Knight's Cross, nothing looks better than it dangling from the neck, the oak leaves tend to hinder it from dancing around the neck when on display, so I prefer the regular Loop. In the original footage clips there's nothing else that spells out grizzled veteran than this look. And it's probably one of the most bad ass scenes in a bridge too far when you see Gräbner walking to his vehicle.
