    Early 1957 EK1, Deumer?

I've read through all the old posts on 1957 type EK1 and think the cross I got yesterday is a 1960's era Deumer. Here are the features:

    - Very subtle frosting on the ribbing
    - Numerous flaws that are most prominent on the 9 o'clock and 6 o'clock arms
    - The center does not have the strong leaf vein detail I have seen on the S&L crosses on the forum
    - Magnetic center, cross is very thin and lightweight
    - Flat pin with a large loop
    - Two or three piece construction, how can I tell between two piece or three piece?
    - Frame is silver plated on the front and sides, back of cross is not
    - No markings

Please let me know if I'm right or wrong and if I should be looking for some other details on the cross!

          Outstanding Cross !!!

I agree ... it's a Deumer alright .... and a nice one at that. Very rare to find one of these WW2 "outer shell" left-over issues in this kind of condition.

              Nice catch !

Yes this is an early Deumer 1957 EK1 using left over wartime parts and labour ( decent frosting , burnishing and painting ) .

If your lucky you can find these with the L/11 stamp !

These are the reasons i love collecting 1957,s your getting wartime quality at half the price but it won't be long before the prices get stupid !

              Regards

              Grant

                Nice,
First one I've seen here with the wartime parts on the 57...good scoop.

Here is an early 57er with a Deumer pin but a different pin retainer.

And here is another. I'm afraid that none of mine are marked L/11 either .

Nice crosses Henri! Looks like I got a good deal on this one at 44 Euro! The seller was selling it as an S&L cross.

I also got a Bundeswehr dress uniform dated 1962 and visor hat for an Oberstleutnant, DKiG winner, that this cross supposedly belonged to. But there are no loops on the uniform and no name with it from the seller who sold the eight-place (I think) ribbon bar that came with the uniform in a previous auction. There are wear spots on the tunic where the bar went.
