We need to discuss these and come to a consensus on what are we are happy to consider original pre '45 and what are post-war, and the reasons for deciding one way or another. Here are some examples, but I would appreciate other contributions

I'll start with a couple of general questions:
1. How many different varieties of these ribbons have been noted?
2. Concerning the numbers of weaves, if the stripes on a ribbon fall within certain specifications, does the number of weaves matter?GeorgeComment

Concerning the number of weaves, I think this is a critical point as many repro ribbons are of the correct dimensions but have a significantly looser weave due to the fewer stitchings. I have seen ribbons that are 45mm wide, UV negative, but only 19mm per white band. I chose the white band as an arbitrary reference as it easier to count the stitches on it.
I think I could venture to say that:
1 any RK ribbon more than 46mm in width is post war.
2 Any ribbon that glows brightly is post-war
But what are the accepted stitch counts??Comment

Harry, it might be a good idea to show by way of diagram what you mean by the number of 'stitches' on the white band.
What about the stitches on the red and black bands?
