Some RK winners were known to wear cheap EK2's in the field, keeping the original in a safe place (such as home) where it would not get damaged. Then changing to the real RK for formal occasions or when they were in the rear.

                      Thanks flak 88.

I don't think is painted, postcard is original .

It's seams there isn't the svastika but I think is at the 1813 side.

It looks strange because the frame of these special EKII is very large but the other dimentions of the other components are as a normal EKII.

this photo I think is very important !

                        Ivan,

The other dimensions are not like a normal EK2.

Look at the width of the inner arms, like a schinkel cross and the there is no way you could fit a date at the 6 o'clock position.
It appears to be a touch-up at the photo studio.

                            But Ivan,
Look at the blown-up picture by Marshal, hardly any room there for a date of any kind.
Sorry to dis-agree with you, but I think it is a touch-up.
The inner arms are too thin, the outer flanges are huge, the colour is odd for the silver frames, there is no discernable date or swaz, etc.
                            Just my thoughts anyway.........

                            Best,
                            Brett
