    Ludwig,

I have missed about everything I have seen on the E-Stand. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to watch the E-Stand 24 hours a day.

I would love to find a 3/4 ring Knight'sCross, but won't give up the rest of my life looking for one. If one comes my way, that would be fine, but if not, I will survive.

Dietrich, I was wondering if you were going to "make the point" which was so obvious.

All RKs are different by different manufacturers. And the beading is not "always perfect". Etc. ETc. eTC. etC. EtC.

At the risk of adding even more paranoia to the RK collecting world, here is a 57 cross from one of my RKT groups. It was identified as a Schickle product by Gordon Williamson (based on the flat ring), but I have never compared it side by side w/ an "original" to see if the frame dies are in fact the same. The quality of this cross is very high, and probably dates from the 60s. The original owner was a member of numerous vet organizations, and no doubt wore this one at functions etc. What say you all, a Schickle or not?

BTW..this cross has all of the same beading flaws mentioned by Tom about his 39 cross...

                      Thanks Andy-

This appears to have a small defect in the frame at the termination of the "1" in the 1813. Mine shows this as well. I will take a closer look at the beading when I get home and further at the flaws in a detailed fashion such that we might compare. What is the weight of the piece and does it have a neusilber or silver frame?

I will check further when I get home, but off hand I can say that the finishing of the frame adjacent to the ring is more crude than the piece I have, which is presumbaly wartime. Perhaps we can look at the extent of flawing as well and a detailed analysis of the beading. Thanks

To those who have asked for better pics and more info, I will get this cross out of the bank and get it for you. These are my file pics and best I have at the moment. The cross actually looks much better in person. It is a pretty high quality piece as 57 stuff goes...

                        it is competely unmarked though

I guess that I have sort of an agenda here, as I have long had an unpleasant theory about "Schickle" RKs. I'm curious to see where this takes us though, as I have an open mind either way at this point...but doesn't that ribbon loop on the Kostalski RK look decidely post war to anyone else?

I found this in my files. Don't know who posted it, so I hope there's no problem.

What I find very interesting is the use of 835 silver for the swastika version as well as for the 57 version! And the position of the mark, of course. Very consistent!

Ouch...those look identical to me. My gut feeling is that mine also matches the supposed wartime versions
