    Dear Friends,

I would appreciate your opinions on this thread:

Fake, m/57 or early post war one

I beleive this is a fake case. Even the '57 crosses came in cases similar in design to the wartime sets.

Can you post some good, close-up pics of the loop of the early, post-war Souval RK?

This is the case supplied by Souval of Vienna for their post war Knight's Crosses. the case is wider and shorter and the ring lays over the ribbon compartment. These were offered from 1952 through the early 1960's. After that, Herr Umlauff used the case manufacturer that produced the cases for the german 1957 replacement medals. The new replacement cases had flat bottoms (no bevel), and were made using modern synthetics in interior lid.

According to Herr Umlauff, managing director of Souval, many former Knight's Cross winners purchased their replacement crosses, in the post war era, from Souval.

I thought Cross to be post war Souval at first... before I saw L/52 stamps on... I got too "Excited" for the older looking case...no loop anyway...
