          hmmm,
the closest match to an original is an L/18, which has the same 'top tie' to the wreath (between the feet) But your one doesn't have any center viens to the feathers, which is 'nearly' always present.
The only examples I know of without the viens are early types with convex ends to the date box...
I'm still trying to figure out bad from good with these, and I'm on the fence with yours, although IMVHO I don't like the cast look of the reverse... so I'd be as interested as you to hear more opinions.
          regards

Isnt it something funny with the spaces in the "shoulder area" too?

            Cheers

the top bar on the date box is poorly done, as is
the general finish on the edges of the reverse.

it just appears to be poorly executed.

i'm not certain whether it is period or not, but
              would pass on it.

                I agree,
the more I look at it, the more I don't like it.
                pass if you can.
In this age of repros, It pays to go with a known style, down to almost microscopic details! At least then you know for sure.

That is not a genuine wartime spange in my opinion. The quality is not there.

                  Sorry.

I have had this spange for a few years so its mine. I'll put this one on the fence and wait to see which way it falls. It sure doesn't sound good for this one but I will wait a little while before I put it in the fake thread. It's unusual that nobody has an example of this one.

                    thanks,
                    bear
