There has been two of these, marked Juncker, on m*****s in the last few months. Maybe the same one twice, for about $640 and some others unmarked, I've not seen them advertised before, and never seen one in real life (except bad fakes) perhaps someone has a bona fide one to show? (knowing that those that are real are rare, and probably no two are alike)

        NOT NEW FOR ME

I missed the piece in question when it was old on the e-stand and only had reverse photos from Detlev.
Full marks to Frank for the detective work, to Bill for taking the bad news like a true gentleman and to Detlev for making us aware.
Yet another pointer (not that another was needed!) of just how dangerous this hobby is becoming.
Sorry, but I have known about these since last October. I got a first hand look at them when they first started coming in the country; I think from Hungary. The photo I posted is from my reproduction photographic files. I have seen these at the military shows in increasing numbers this year and on various auctions and web sites.

I have scans of a good number of the new fakes that came in with this EK combo. If interested, I will post all of the new fakes that came into the country this time last year. I mailed thee scans to David Tiffin at the time as I was not posting on the forum. As I save all emails, I have all the photo scans for quick use.

            Dear Bill,

If this is the case, then I can only say that it would have been nice if you would have let us know last October. I presume you knew these are in Detlev´s and Gordon´s books. No harm done to me, but who knows who fell for one in the meantime?

It is (was) one of my favourite awards and I fell in love with it since the day I saw it in Detlev´s price guide. I was on the lookout for one ever since and cannot confirm the mass of these that you have seen. In fact, I didn´t even see one on a military show or an online auction. I visit all bigger German shows throughout the year and German online auctions on a daily basis. I look at ALL items at shows and on online auctions. Not one of these badges to date, first one I ever saw was the one on the e-stand.

            Cheers, Frank H.

                  EK & Bar

There are two for sale on m*****s at this moment (just looked!) not maker marked. I cannot post but perhaps someone else can?

                  Regards
                  Andy

PS. Frank, this is a piece that I have also wanted to own for a long time.

                    Hello all

It would be nice if Detlev could come to the table here and share with us why he thinks these are fake besides the . in the address.

Or will the third time be a charm?

I've been burned twice trying to get one of these.... I'm starting to lose interest in them....

While reading Andy´s comments I am under the impression, although I thought I was precise on this, that some people think that ALL EK1914/Spange 1939 combos are fake. That is nonsense. All that was stated in my first post in this thread is about the type of Juncker combo PICTURED. I was NOT talking about ANY combo, unmarked combos, etc. Some of those are certainly real. Like combos from Juncker marked L/12.

Again: Just the ones with this Juncker address plate are fantasy, no matter if the full stop after the 13 is present or not.

                        Cheers, Frank H.

                              Comparision

                              Frank,
I am not questioning all EK's & Bars, I was trying to get comparisions between the marked, unmarked and the Juncker pieces you and others have weeded out.
Maybe, whoever is making these, does not mark every one as a Juncker! so similarity to the obverse might be found on other pieces.
Over the past ten months or so I have been looking for such a piece for my collection (along with other rarer items) and there does seem to be a lot on the market for such a reasonably rare piece. this to me, makes me think they can't all be original items, some must be real, but which ones!
I too would have picked a Juncker piece if I could have found a trusted item/seller, over any other marked or unmarked piece, as I suspect most collectors would if they had choices, and I also suspect the fake makers know this! but by making too many pieces marked Juncker would make people suspicious quicker
                              We must compare!

                              Regards
                              Andy

                                Another EK Combo fo sale

Doesn't Gailen David http://www.gdmmilitaria.com/ have an EK combo for sale as well right now? I don't think it's like these, but still a combo. Think he wanted $695. for it.
