    Cardbox for CCC from Detlev

I don´t know if it was discussed before, but I wonder why the cardbox for the CCC on Detlevs last update is marked "Nahkampfspangen" and not "Nahkampfspange". There is only one CCC in this box, so why is there a plural on the top? Any explainations?

I remember that there was a packet for an east front medal with such a bug, that came out as a fake. Are these cardboxes with "Nahkampfspangen" real?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best wishes

    Joerg

The 'n' is a plural in German yes and the word ending in 'e' singular....well in this instance, German grammer confuses me, as I don't speak or read it !

Here is a genuine example of a CCC box in my collection.

          Hello Marcus,

          thanks for you reply.

Is there any explaination that there is the plural on the box? Normally it would mean there are 2 or more clasps in this box. I did never read this on any other box or case before than on these ones. A misprint is impossible im my eyes.

I really can´t see any reason for that. Isn´t it possible that these card boxes with this print are early fakes?

I remember a packet for the east front medal that was wrongly spelled. It came out as a fake.

A final question: In another forum someone wrote he has never seen one with "Nahkampfspange" on it, but only with "Nahkampfspangen". Can I use your photo in the other forum, to show that the ones that you have exist?

          Best wishes

          Joerg

My opinion is that Marcus´s box with "Nahkampfspange" is authentic.
Nahkampfspangen is just such a stupid mistake that I can´t for the life of me believe that its real. Would seem to be the sort of thing a foreigner would do when copying these. If the box had been bigger, to take 5 or more "Spangen" I would have believed it.

                  Thanks Marcus!

You wrote it´s a mistake - do you mean just a mistake and the box is real or a mistake of the faker and the box is not good?

                  Best wishes

Arh you beat me to it, I just edited it

I must say I think it is a mistake and the box is real. I know someone who just bought one and I'll take a better look at it and come back to this thread.

My German friend Walle who collects packets just had one of these but he sent it back.

I have some more pic's he's given me which I'll post later.

                      Thanks my friend!

I still really wonder why the Germans who were perfectionists, handed out such mistaken items.

                      Best wishes

It's a fact that the 'quality control' during the war wasn't as good as it should have been.

I'm sure that many packets and cartons got through the system, even after mistakes were found rather than waste materials.

I'll post a EK1 carton later which will highlight what I mean.

You mean one with wrong date on it don´t you Allen?

Something like "41" instead of "39" right?
I´ve seen those before, and yes, I think they are good. I have´nt had a chance to hold one of these "spangen" boxes yet. They do look good, but "Spangen" instead of "Spange" seems like such a glaring mistake that I can hardly believe it.

                            Well,

I have seen again CCC cardbox with wrong lettering , for a gold one. I have examinated this cardbox toghether with Helmut Weitze and he gives to that one.

It was looking very, very good.......

I am very confused but really can we accept wrong writing ?
