      Favourite Cased Awards

Whilst I do not collect miniatures, I couldn't resist buying this half miniature Mother's Cross in Gold in a case in the form of a book.

This was probably bought by some family members to give to their mother on Mothering Sunday.

                    Pab

PAB in Bronze. I think the box maybe a generic type (used for everything) but not sure.

Very interesting the N.Rhineland case, that built up area around the cross is like that for the EK and KVK Ldo cases of a type !!

Umm interesting stuff you have !!! My second volume on Cases and Packets will be on Civil and Political.......I'll be knocking on your door !!!

Stan you have an eye for the 'odd' and quality.....very nice items, Jody I bet Ricky L on the GMIC would have kittens when he see's that, have you posted it on there ?

Oh Jim, your cardboard box, you of course have a genuine 'cloud' box it has been copied numerous times and not bad efforts, but they are smaller and in garish colours ( a dual grey & red then green and a purple with grey in both of them too)

Now with this cloud box we normally associate and have found (even in bundles wrapped brown paper - I've some great pic's for the book) only ever silver IAB's made by......bugger, BSW I think ??? (age again !!!)

That said, I'd contemplate that perhaps by the same maker other combat awards etc could/would have been put in them.

I'm less inclined (to date) to think this one is generic to all insundry of makers.
