In my opinion all three packets come from the same source and tools.

I quite agree; they are either all genuine or all fake.

Hopefully they are genuine and I'll be proved wrong - again.

PS I like my EKII packets to have a bit of a glossy surface too (efforts at waterproofing the packet - dunno...) - can't remember if I've stated that before and this maybe totally meaningless.

I've acquired two of these Carl Forfter packets the last two months, one mint, and one recently 'used'. I'd like to post the last packet I purchased from Britain this last week, an LDO, for some comments. By browsing this thread I can see many similar traits in my last packet as the thread's.

I'm very much on record for not liking these and I think Marcus may be a bit doubtful on the 'LDO' bit.

Don't be put off by me Robert - I've got my reasons but they can all be countered - it's just when I put them all together I get a bad gut like reaction and I've had it since they first appeared out of the blue a year or so ago.

Do some searching on this packet and you will have plenty of info to help you out.

Marcus I believe likes them but may have doubt's re: LDO print (I might be wrong here) which is only on some packets.

Personally I woundn't worry about these, the Ldo ones - well, I'm confident we have an interesting anomaly here, seriously.

It's not lightly I'd take this stance on such: it's one of those dubious ones; from a hoard an unknown EK maker etc etc I know.

- I'm still on the track of the 'Down Fall' ones, I have some info but still awaiting further.

- Thomas and I still need to arrange a date to research together, but are in comm's via e mail.

A year has flown by now, any more news on these packets. I'm so excited i bought one with & one without the LDO!
How much would date testing actually cost? Could you just find a University student doing chemistry who could actually do it?
