    Krim Shield from unknown maker

    Gentlemen,
I like this shield, but I know that some consider it as a fake. In Russia for example...
    What your opinion?
    Thanks.

This pattern is IMO a good original one.

    My books:

    - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

    and more!

        Thanks, Antonio and kraut72.

Those in Russia who don't recognise this type say that it has appeared not long ago to stand their ground.
Nobody knew of it even 20-30 years ago.
And now this type is widely spread and almost all dealers have it for sale.
        Any comments on such opinion?

            Yes there is!!

Of all the shields of this type I have in my collection there at least 2 of them which make part of a grouping. A grouping received directly from the vet's family and which never made part of any collection.

Also the progress of the wearing of the dies is very noticeable on this type of shield. Varying from highly detailed (zinc) to well worn die struck (iron sheet - late war).

I hope that the statement that this type is not original is not based on the fact that this type of shield was never found in Russia as a ground dug so therefore is must be fake.

Here is the same shield together with its grouping.

              Pascal,
thanks to posting nice Krim shield. Yes, this type of shield are questionable in Russia. I actually have one in my collection.
But the shield from topic stater has few differences and I try to mark them. Is it fake, bad light, different die, different press I do not know, but differences exist IMO.
              Regards,
              Andrei

                    Hi Pascal,
I think it's very important to make a decision for starter shield. I would really appreciate, if I can get you opinions (or somebody else) on the difference between two shields (TC and Pascal's group).
                    Thanks in advance,
                    Andrei

                        Andrei,
Here is the same type from my collection also from a vet's grouping.
To be honest I really don't see any differences with the shield which started this thread.

                          Hi Pascal,
Both your shields and one from e-medals are identical, no doubt about that.
I try to explain , what a difference in two shields (yours and topic starter), using side by side picture.
                          IMO,
                          1. The eagle beak is different.
                          2. difference between the legs and bottom feathers
                          3. 1942 -all numbers is different
                          4. On your example swastika doesn't touch the wreath, on starter example does.
                          5. Bunch difference on semi-island , which you can see on side by side picture.
                          6. Border on left side broken , where part of semi island goes thru the board, etc., etc.,
Please let me know , if I am wrong.
                          Best regards,
                          Andrei
