          TC, I don't like this shield and IMO this is not an original shield.

          You will always find this shield with the following characteristics:

          - wide prongs;
          - backing plate which follows the shields contour;
          - stained backing paper which only covers the backing plate and never the backing cloth;
          - backing cloth which is been cut-out at an angle and isn't oval like it should be.

          I have to admit the shield's obverse is VERY good and on first observation it would pass for an original Deumer shield without a doubt. The reverse however should make you suspicious and only when observing the obverse very closely it will reveal some very small differences with the original.

          Also some very doubtful dealers have been selling this type of shield in the past.

            Pascal, I agree you on the reverse on this Narvik.

            You say that shield's obverse is VERY good.

            I have been looking at So called Deumer types here on forum.

            I see some diffrence here. For me it seems that the swastika legs don´t have the same aspect ratio, It´s also "soft" imo.

            Or what??

              You're right about the swas but I think those differences in the swas are quite hard to spot. There are IMO some better noticeable differences in the wreath.

                  Thanks for the info Pascal..certainly one to be wary of from the obverse anyway.
