                  What makes this shield IMO such a rare shield is that this type of shield you normally would expect find in a "dug-up" condition.

                  Only recently it was discovered that a whole lot of these shields were found at Breslau, all in the same condition.

                  As I have personally examined this shield I have no doubts about the originality and furthermore I now even more convinced that this type of shield was made by Maedicke.
