The lappland shield came from a german veteran estates family with a war journal. I have seen similar variations earlier and from what I recall, there were a couple of patterns that were more common. Most common most be the alu shield that is made almost black.Last edited by schönbeck; 01-20-2008, 01:29 PM.

The Krim shield from Fisherman (or Schönbeck) is without a doubt an original shield. This is, as Jan already explained, one of the 2 variations of a certain unknown maker.
The Lappland shield is of course a different story. As most of these shields are coming without any provenance it depends on what you believe (or want to believe).
If my Grandfather was entitled to a Lappland shield (which he wasn't) and he decided in 1995 to make one would it be original or not??
That being said I like the one posted by Fisherman, but that doesn't make it original.
