I just wanted to add one more observation to this thread.
The study of "post-war replacements" is invaluable not only to their collectors but equally so to any collector of wartime manufactured items who wishes to be able to distinguish wartime from post-war production (which is everyone!).
Thus it behooves us to respect and encourage anyone who devotes their attention and time to increasing our knowledge of all eras of production.
