Looks like it might have been taken at the Ulrichsberg gathering??

Congrats Tom on the early RK. Nice to see the Estonian feels happy to wear his awards in AU and nice to see that the local RSL supports him in it. Is he wearing a Hindenburg Cross? Must have been a very young vet if he earned one of those.

ED: And is that an antipartisan badge in silver? I wonder if he was SS?

                              Hi Tony!
It is a Hindenburg cross, but hanging on a KVK2 ribbon!! My guess would be the ribbon is correct, the mini wrong, too young for a WW1 vet I think, as the photo, doesn't look particularly old??
Don't know if he is ex SS?, If it is taken at Ulrichsberg, there was always a big turnout of SS vets there, many were members of the Austrian SS vets association Kameradschaft IV

Like well said by Nigel, the Hindenburg Cross could be wrongly added to his set of medals.

And about being SS, of course he was.. 20th Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS (1st Estonian), formed from the original 3rd Estonian SS Volunteer Brigade.
