Thanks Nigel. Say, is it possible to enlarge that image for us?

          Hi Guy!
I can enlarge it, but it will loose some of its sharpness!!

Perhaps a larger image either side-by-side for comparison; or a separate post.

If you have the time and inclination, that is!

            Thanks!

This is a very interesting photo, taken in 1977: General der Infanterie Otto Hitzfeld wearing his wartime uniform, but his postwar RK with OL and Swords.

                    Fenet RK award date

Award date for Henri Fenet's RK should be 29 April 1945. Interesting that he told me he only first found out about the award in 1955 ! He was given an original RK by a German friend and he also purchased a 57er in the late 50's or early 60's. He was a good friend and I visited him at his home in Paris a few times were we had some long talks about that final battle of Berlin. Tom

                      Hi Tom,

You are a wellspring of valuable information! It is interesting to know he was unaware of his RK award until 1955!!

                      Thanks!
