Okay, can I ask a super turbo-newbie question?
I've been wondering, was there something similar to 1957 model decorations in East Germany, or (which sounds more realistic to me) did the NVA officers and the Soviets do everything in their power to hide their connections to the Wehrmacht?

I know it may sound like a stupid question, but I'm far from being an expert on Wehrmacht medals and other attributes, I've joined this forum because I'll need data regarding this subject in a book I'm writing.

The wearing of any 57ers was not allowed in East Germany as far as I know, when the wall came down in 1989, several veterans who were living in the East at the time, took the opportunity to finally be able to buy some replacement 57ers!
