    Unnamed Ritterkreuzträger

A German veteran of the battle at the German war cemetery, Maleme. I took this photo of this paratrooper after trying to talk with him. He was a nasty bit of work and was not at all friendly.

The photo is not photoshopped. He is really wearing his old tunic!

Nils: Thanks for pointing out the uniform is not photoshopped -- I'm still puzzled by the top button, though.

Arthur: Thanks for your thanks! All credit goes to the people who actually hosted the images .... I just "borrow" them (with credit) to archive on this thread.

Greater thanks goes, by far, to the originator of this thread: Nigel. And, after looking at Post #1 to ascertain whom to credit .... it looks like Nigel has beat me to the punch with his first two images which I've re-posted on Page 12: Numbers 177 & 178 ~

                            Greetings to all!

Guy this photo might help to explain the top button.
what it appears to be is he has gained weight (as we all do) and the buttons have been moved to the very edge you can still see where the buttons used to be (small marks parrellel to the new placement)

for those who don't know much about this man read this page:
