Hello my Friend ! Never met her because when I called her number I had been given by a friend, they said "Oh I'm sorry but she is visiting in the U.S. at this time" Maybe we passed each other in the air over the Atlantic ! Tom

                Name of this DKiGträger?

Or is it a RKT? I see a ribbon there...

He looks to be both I think. I see an EKII, EKI and an RK on bar. I wonder why he didn't get an 57er RK to complete things? Great shot

He's a Knights Cross winner for sure. I remember him from a reunion of the OdR. Tom

Rant for the day: With all respect, but there is one thing that bothers me tremendously.. These soldiers are not winners. They did not compete in the Olympics or received their medals in the lottery. They earned them.

So why do so many people refer to them as winners? Even the Medal of Honor recipients are called winners.. Ask a soldier, any, I am sure they do not like the term.

                      Okay, feeling better now..

I've met Many many RKT's and they don't mind being called winners. They even refer to themselves as such...As a purple Heart "winner" I don't mind or CARE

Notice that his Ost is most probably a TR era made piece !! Put backwards.
I wonder why he did not order a 57'er version of it as other of his awards...

I did see that. It would be interesting to know how many he had to replace after the war. The Ost may have been one he had safely stored at home. We can only guess.

Check out the lapel pins he's wearing -- he was a Gebirgsjäger.
