Yes.. By looking at the oakleaf on the center, the numerals, overall appearance and the ring, it's an early one. Since you don't care about the oaks, no comment on them. So it looks good to me. Just out of curiosity, how much are you beign asked for this set? If you don't mind answering that is..
Obverse. Your core seems to off to right. Looks alright. I been offered up to $1500.Us for mine. Orig Ribbon, early box (Wartime surplus?) & O/L. Looks good to me but you have have it in your hands.
I have emailed the seller for better and sharper photos.
A note on the oaks. I dont think they are legit 1957 oaks. I think they are made much later for collectors. Thats why i dont want them. They will come with the cross either way if i buy the set.
Ed Tainton.
Thanks for posting your cross.
Cheers.

Hello
in my opinion this cross offered to you is not a Schickle's one. Its an early period one, but it looks more like an S&L. The Schickle usually is marked 835 for the silver content and is also wider than the others(more than 48 mm)
On the eye ring you can see also that it is not flat, like the Schickel ones.
Sorry... Nevertheless a nice piece, but too expensive for a S&L, even beeing an early period one. If it would be really a Schickel.......
