It more and more looks like a S&L.
Regarding the ring being flat on Schickles. I found an old thread where it is claimed that some Schickles had the ring smoothed at the edges ?

      Hi Peter,

I maybe wrong here but I think that genuine 1957 Oakleaves and Sword should always have touching sword hilts so you may well be correct not to want them.

      Regards ...

Here are new photos. Note the dieflaw. Typical for S&L. I´m realy interested in this cross. Is there anything i should be worry about ? It looks ok to me.

        More opinions please

600 Euros is way too steep in my opinion for an early S&L ’57 RK with in my opinion repo modern oaks and swords with diamonds.

I agree, but early 1957 Knight Crosses are not common in my opinion. They are hard to find. I asked Detlev and he has no one. Kai Winkler either.
If you guys like the cross, i will talk to the seller about a buying the cross.

Peter this has nothing to do with US but do you like this cross?

Each collector has thier own likes and dislikes, for me I wouldn't touch this pieces because it isn't cased, but that is just me, at the end of the day all this bils down to if you like this piece.

                      Hi Peter

I would agree that this is one of the earlier 57 types. However it
may very well be one of the silver plated nickel types. Is it in fact,
a S&L? I,m afraid I just can't tell. It is surely not the quality of your
                      other beautiful 57.

It does appear that their is quite a bit of die flaw problem to the beaded
edge of the six o'clock arm. Also, the outer flange of that arm appears
not to be even or straight. Did you notice that? All and all, I would not
believe the piece to be worth such a price. The final decision is yours
                      alone, however.

Hope your not offended by my comments.

                        Hello Peter ,

                        My thoughts :

                        Knights Cross

                        Oakleaves

                        Price

                        Regards

Very good and serius opinions. Yes, the quality is not at all like my other 1957 S&L. The beading is a bit of center and the ring is a bit unfinished. Thats why its interesting as it show a quality that is slowly droping.
The price is a bit over the top in my opinion to.

                          Cheers.
