sea battle badge / Seekampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe

    Hi guys,

i think here in the 57er section we haven´t had such an early, very early version of this badge.

    Ok, here it is

And before you ask because i am a KM collector......well, there´s a ship in it and it has a golden wreath, so it fits into my KM collection

A true rarity Rudiger, early versions of this badge are hardly ever seen, surely S&L only made a very few pieces, it could be a long time before we see another?
Everything about the badge itself is great, apart from its rarity, crisp details, great finish and the contrast in colours between the eagle, wreath and ship, make this a striking badge to look at!!
        BIG congrats!!!party0039.gif

All I can say is "WOW!"

One of the rarest of all 57er's you've landed old friend! The quality is everything we would expect from an early piece. Perfect in every way!

I'm happy it landed in your collection Rüdiger! I know you will treasure it!

              I'm think it's not original.
This badge 1957 form (offficial form) have different design
              like on picture

              or on German Law

On a quick vieuw I only see a different eagle.
But S&L used 2 different eagles on their early badges.
As long as the items meet the "herstellervorschriften", I don't think that the design really matters.
Also don't forget that there were more than 1 herstellers that also made different designed badges.

I think that maybe the pictures in that book are only drawings or artists impressions, and not photo's of actual badges?

                    Really?

Different design from that that was in the law? In Germany? You in it trust?
10 years ago when I have collected a collection of 1957 badges - these badges at all weren't. At me such wasn't!
                    But official design - another.

So all the rest - for collectors, but not the original

                    IMHO

                      I think this is correct.
But maybe Uwe will jump in, he knows this for sure

The pages you show, i think, are from a 1958 Sedlatzek sales catalog!!
